Rosendales

Here in Columbus, we have one famous area called “short north art district”. The area has a long history that began in the 1980s. Today it has both commercial and residential area, incredible boutiques, galleries, restaurants, pubs, clubs, Arena district, the Convention Center, the North Market area, and parks.

Living close by this area, makes us passed by “short north” quite often and once I began to notice one new restaurant that is always full of people inside. One day we made a reservation there, called Rosendales. They claim that, Head chef and owner, Richard Rosendale, strongly emphasizes in using the highest quality meats and seafood available, the freshest fruits and vegetables with a focus on American regional ingredients in season, and cooked perfectly from the source.

Chef Rosendales is the youngest member and also the 2008 team captain of the five-person United States Culinary Olympic Team. He was one of only five chefs who represented US in the 2004 World culinary Olympics in Erfurt, Germany. In his thirteen years of professional experience, Chef Rosendale has earned more than forty national and international medals. Also, he has been featured on several TV Food Network Specials.

I personally, always love to experience a tasting menu while I got chance to pay a visit to an upscale restaurant. We order 5 course tasting menu here and our experience from the amuse of salmon with basil oil, ahi tuna and crab wrap all the way to the dessert ( lemon curd, crushed raspberry and almond streusel, with ginger ice cream above and cover with toasted meringue) was absolutely divine. The presentation of every single dish was beautiful and very artistic without distracting the flavor of main ingredient. This is beyond our expectation, since rarely, we could find any great culinary here in Columbus that can be compared to big cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles or New York. So, hey…for those of you that claim yourselves as a Columbus’ foodie, you need to stop by here and give it a try.
