by Yun,

Just recently I found a new American restaurant that I might categorize it as a cafe. It has an interesting concept for a city like Columbus. The menu is small, simple, uncomplicated but everything made from fresh, natural, organic and local ingredients. I love this place for its cleanliness, coziness and minimalist concept. Having a small patio in the corner of the restaurant offers you the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine outside, especially during the spring or summer.

First, they take your order and give you a number, then you can find a place to sit. While waiting for the food to come, you can grab magazines provided by the restaurant. If you order coffee, there is a self-serve coffee with some different varieties you can choose including a “swiss water process” coffee which I think is nice since not many places offer this kind of coffee.

I came here on weekend, when they served breakfast brunch until 3pm. The crowd consists of many different people (single, family with kids, trendy and gay couples). I love the atmosphere as well as the food. For starter, we had home fried potatoes (called Yukon Potatoes). For entree, I tried the Cloud Nine Pancakes made with riccota cheese to make the pancakes even fluffier, served with fresh banana, real butter and warm ohio maple syrup (since then this became my best pancake in town). My husband, A, had fresh home made biscuit with egg and cheese plus bacon on the side. And do not forget to order their famous home made ginger ale that turns out to be really refreshing on a sunny day like now. I saw that many people were enjoying their drinks, blueberry smoothies, fresh squeeze orange juice ,and fresh carrot juice. Too bad, I had no space left in my stomach to order another drink, maybe next time….
